The Case for Capacity

I was listening to a podcast today about the book of Proverbs in the Bible.

The hosts compared Proverbs to the fortunes you find in fortune cookies.

They weren’t trying to degrade the Proverbs, but rather noting that the wisdom in them is profound and can be bite-sized-just like fortunes in fortune cookies.

As I was listening to some of their favorite Proverbs and why I had a thought come to my mind that we frequently minimize our abilities to achieve and overcome in life.

I wondered to myself why we question or doubt ourselves so much.

Think about all the times you may have had a thought or idea come to your mind, only to dismiss it because perhaps what you didn’t know about it.

I wonder what we would do if instead of asking ourselves if we were capable of doing it, we asked ourselves are we WILLING to do it.

I think we are ALL capable.

I believe we ALL have the capacity.

But the significant question is are we willing?

Do you know what else is a significant question?

DO I CARE ENOUGH TO TRY?

You see, when you decide you are capable, and that it is important enough to you to TRY, you become so much more powerful.

You gain real control not just over your actions–but your mind!

Your brain is amazing, but you have to learn to be in charge of it.

When you decide you CAN and you WANT to, there truly isn’t anything you cannot accomplish.

I can’t wait to hear what you do.
