Moving Forward

Life is full of decisions that need to be made.

Every second of every minute of every hour of every day.

For some, this is an overwhelming thought.

For others, it is a motivating thought.

I believe each of these decisions is an opportunity to prove who you are and who you want to be. Not to other people. To yourself.

How are you showing up for yourself?

Who do you want to be?

Are you taking control of your life by the decisions you make in the small, seemingly insignificant moments of your everyday life?

Or are you giving away the power of your decisions to your partner? Children? Job? Boss? Mother/Father?

Do you think about who you are being in these moments?

Who are you making decisions for?

If it isn’t yourself, some people will tell you you are selfless, thoughtful, and caring.

If it is for yourself, some people will tell you the opposite.

I would like to offer that perhaps you don’t have to be either of these.

Perhaps you can be true to yourself without being selfish.

You can be thoughtful without sacrificing your authentic self.

The key is to know yourself.

You cannot show up as yourself or for yourself if you don’t know what you stand for.

Take some time to ask yourself what you are standing for and why?

People will always have an opinion about the decisions you make.

But no one has to answer for those decisions but you.

No one can see you. Know you. Fight for you if you do not do so for yourself.

You will never find peace, validation, happiness, or confidence in life if you are basing your decisions all day long with anyone but your true self in mind.

This does not mean you never consider others when making decisions.

It just means that you consider who you want to be first.

Go be you.
